eG Access widget settings

Sites

These settings change how the widget looks. They do not, and cannot, make the client's site conformant — see the README before this goes in a proposal.

Identity

Site ID Goes in the embed tag as data-site. Lowercase, digits, dashes. Cannot be changed after saving. Client name For your list only. Never shown to visitors.

Widget enabled on this site

Unticking hides the widget everywhere within about six hours (the cached-config window), or immediately for a first-time visitor.

Appearance Accent colour Leave blank and the widget reads the site's own brand colour (a --brand-style CSS variable, else its main button) and builds the gradient from it. Set a value only when that guess is wrong.

Position Move it off bottom right if the client already has a chat bubble there. Button size

Accessibility statement URL Strongly recommended. There is a ready-made template in the README. “Report a problem” URL A route for a real person to report a barrier. This is the part that actually helps.

Honour the visitor's OS settings on first visit (reduced motion, more contrast)

Features shown in the drawer

Untick anything that misbehaves on a particular site. “Read aloud” is off by default — browser speech is rough, and anyone who needs a screen reader already has a far better one.

Notes Allowed origins (one per line) Recorded for reference. The widget does not enforce this — a hard origin check would take a client's widget down over a typo, and there is nothing here worth stealing.

Live preview

The preview site declares a maroon brand colour and nothing else. With the accent blank you are watching auto-detection work.

Embed code

One line, once. Everything above is then changed from here without touching the client's site again.
